A Practice Built on Thoughtful, Intentional Design

SCOPPA Architecture is a design-driven practice in Omaha focused on creating architecture that is both beautifully resolved and deeply pragmatic. We pursue design that elevates daily experience and function while meeting the real constraints of cost, time, site, and project needs.

Our design philosophy blends creative ambition, strategic problem-solving, and technical precision. We believe architecture should be clear, intentional, and crafted with care—supporting the people, organizations, and communities it serves with thoughtful and impactful design solutions.

Why “SCOPPA”? A Modern Workshop for Design

The name SCOPPA was inspired by an Old English word, "sceoppa,"  meaning a booth or shed where a  trade or craft was perfected.

Our modern workshop is a place where ideas take form, where we work with rigour, and where thoughtful solutions emerge through iteration and skill.

This spirit guides how we approach every project and every relationship.

Experience That Shapes Strong, Clear Work

SCOPPA was established in 2019 after more than a decade of experience in architectural practice at large and medium-sized, highly respected firms in Nebraska and Virginia. Our team has contributed to over 200 projects, ranging from civic and municipal work to commercial, industrial, educational, and hospitality environments.

This depth of experience provides the foundation for our approach today:
design that is grounded in reality, informed by technical rigor, and responsive to the needs of end users, contractors, and the organizations we serve.

How We Work: The SCOPPA Pillars

Our practice is defined by six guiding principles:

Design Ambition

We seek thoughtful, high-impact solutions that elevate everyday experience, function, and mindsets.

Process-Driven Excellence

Clear systems and consistent workflows support high-quality work and reduce stress, enabling detailed, thoughtful designs.

Intentional Collaboration & Respect

We approach every client, consultant, and contractor as a true partner.

Cost-Integrated Design

Budget informs design from day one—not as a constraint but as a creative parameter.

Trained to Be the Best

We value deep competence, professional rigor, and a commitment to continual growth.

Built for People to Thrive

We design our own practice with as much care as our buildings—creating a supportive, sustainable environment for both our team and our clients.

What It Feels Like to Work With Us

Clients often describe working with SCOPPA as calm, clear, and collaborative.
We listen closely, communicate honestly, anticipate challenges, and bring structure to complex projects.

Our goal is simple:

To make the process feel organized, respectful, and confidence-building—so our clients can focus on their mission while we focus on the architecture and function of space that supports it.
